Starting in March, and in order to enhance recreational fishing, the NY State Department of Environmental Conservation stocks lakes and ponds across the state.

Suffolk county lakes are being stocked with catching size brown, brook, and rainbow trout.

This type of fishing is easy and fun for all, if you have small children this is a great way to introduce them to this activity.

Light tackle, ultra light outfits are the best way to fish for these these trout, they will eagerly take small spoons, crankbaits and rooster tail style lures.

NY State requires a valid fresh water fishing license which you can purchase directly on their website.
